Hannah Moskowitz's Blog - An Open Letter to Those Who Review on Goodreads - January 03, 2012 00:31
I know everyone yammers on about how great it is that now Anyone With A Blog can review anything, but the effect of writers setting up google alerts and then arguing with people who write critical reviews (or worse, posting links on their blogs and assive-aggressivley encouraging people to go after the reviewers) is having a really chilling effect. No good thing ever came out of arguing with a review. Not one.

P.S. to authors: I know that bad reviews can hurt. I know that sometimes bad reviews are objectively WRONG. Shut up anyway. If you’re a decent person with a good book, your readers will defend the thing. And that’s the dream. That’s what Goodreads is for.
